California Chiropractors Needed for CA Health Corps to Fight COVID-19
Sacramento, Calif. – April 1, 2020 - Thank
you to the hundreds of doctors who added their names to
the California Chiropractic Association (CalChiro) list
of volunteers. Your willingness to step up displays your
commitment to the citizens of California.
On March 30, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced a call for volunteers to assist with healthcare worker shortages needed to care for California’s COVID-19 patients. “Medical professionals are the heroes of this moment. We need ALL healthcare workers out in the field. This is an all hands-on deck situation as we prepare for what’s ahead. Doctors, nursing students, EMTs & more–CA needs YOU. Sign up. Spread the word.” Read full press release HERE.
It is predicted that COVID-19 infections in this state will peak in Mid-May, and should the models prove accurate, we will desperately need more healthcare professionals. Please sign up if you can help. Indicate that your occupation is medical and, in the drop down menu, you can select “chiropractor.” It only takes a few minutes. Click to view example.
The CA Board of Chiropractic Examiners (BCE) has also put out a plea to its licensees. “The BCE encourages licensed Doctors of Chiropractic to be part of the workforce to support the medical surge during this time of need. The state is in need for help at quarantine sites, testing sites, and medical surge facilities and needs assistance with pre-hospital triage and pharmacy services. Interested medical and health care professionals are encouraged to visit healthcorps.ca.gov for more information and to register for the California Health Corps. The BCE thanks licensed DCs for doing their part during the COVID-19 health emergency.” As essential healthcare providers and 13,000 strong in California, chiropractic has an excellent opportunity to have a huge impact on patients during this crisis.
